Our DoD/Aerospace client is looking to fill a Systems Engineer position within their Regional Strike Programs, offering an exciting opportunity for aerospace industry professionals to contribute to mission-critical defense solutions. This role involves working on hardware, software, and systems integration projects that support national security objectives, with a focus on innovative systems engineering practices.
Location: Pittsfield, MA (On-site)
Position: Systems Engineer – Regional Strike Programs
Contract Length: 12-24 months with possibility of going direct
Pay: $49.36 per hour
Education/Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Systems Engineering, Science, Engineering, Technology, or Mathematics; 2+ years of relevant experience or a Master’s degree with 6 months of experience. Agile experience preferred.
Clearance Requirement: Department of Defense Secret security clearance required at time of hire
Schedule: First Shift
In this role, you will use your technical and interpersonal skills to:
- Develop and validate hardware, software, and system solutions for regional strike capabilities, ensuring compliance with mission requirements.
- Lead requirements engineering activities, including documenting, analyzing, and managing complex system specifications.
- Apply Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) techniques for system modeling, simulation, and design analysis to optimize system performance.
- Design, integrate, and troubleshoot hardware systems, ensuring seamless interoperability within the broader defense architecture.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute system testing, verification, and validation activities, supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
- Incorporate AI and automation tools to enhance system performance, testing efficiency, and operational reliability.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Expertise with systems modeling tools such as Cameo, MagicDraw, or similar MBSE platforms.
- Proficiency in requirements management tools like DOORS or Jama.
- Hands-on experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing and integration of complex defense systems.
- Strong understanding of defense standards such as MIL-STD, DO-178, and cybersecurity protocols relevant to aerospace systems.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies tailored to defense projects.
- Ability to analyze and troubleshoot hardware and software issues in high-stakes environments.
- Excellent communication skills for technical documentation and cross-team collaboration.
- Demonstrated ability to innovate by applying AI/ML techniques to enhance system capabilities and operational efficiency.
