About the Role
Florida Industrial Electric is hiring an experienced Industrial Electrician specializing in wastewater electrical installation. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience working in water and wastewater treatment plants, lift stations, pump stations, VFD's and industrial control environments.
The right candidate will be comfortable installing conduit, wiring motors and control panels, terminating equipment, troubleshooting electrical systems, and working from plans and specifications on municipal and industrial projects.
Responsibilities:
- Install electrical systems for wastewater treatment plants, lift stations, pump stations, and related industrial facilities
- Run and bend conduit, pull wire, terminate panels, and install electrical equipment
- Wire motors, pumps, VFDs, starters, control panels, instrumentation, and process equipment
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, one-line diagrams, and project specifications
- Perform troubleshooting, testing, and commissioning support
- Work with PLC panels, motor controls, instrumentation, and low-voltage control wiring
- Follow NEC requirements, OSHA safety standards, and company safety procedures
- Coordinate with project managers, foremen, inspectors, and other trades on active job sites
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
Qualifications
- Experience as an industrial electrician, preferably in wastewater, water treatment, utilities, or heavy industrial environments
- Strong knowledge of conduit installation, motor controls, electrical panels, and field wiring
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and electrical plans
- Familiarity with VFDs, pumps, controls, instrumentation, and process equipment
- Knowledge of NEC standards and safe electrical work practices
- Ability to work independently and as part of a crew
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Must be dependable, safety-focused, and able to work in outdoor/industrial environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent field experience
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
- Experience with lift stations, pump stations, SCADA, PLC panels, and instrumentation wiring
- Ability to troubleshoot control circuits and motor control systems
- Computer knowledge and efficiency, including Microsoft Office products;
- Broad understanding of industry;
- Familiarity with requirements of drawings and specifications and with terms and conditions of Project Contracts, Subcontracts and Purchase Orders;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills;
- Ability to read drawings and specifications
- Functions effectively as part of a team;
- Delegates work appropriately;
- Strong decision making/problem solving skills;
- Excellent time management and organizational skills;
- 5+ years of industry experience.
