About Onward Christian Academy
Onward Christian Academy is a Christ-centered hybrid homeschool academy partnering with parents to cultivate students who know, love, and glorify God. Our Teacher's Aides are an essential part of that mission. They are the "glue" that helps our school days run smoothly by serving teachers, students, administrators, and families with excellence, flexibility, and joy.
Position Summary
We're looking for a dependable, servant-hearted individual who enjoys working with children and thrives in a fast-paced environment. This role is ideal for someone who is flexible, proactive, and willing to jump in wherever help is needed.
No two days are exactly alike! Teacher's Aides support classroom instruction, supervise students, assist with lunch and recess, help with administrative tasks, and contribute to creating a safe, welcoming school environment.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities may include:
- Support classroom teachers by working with individual students and small groups
- Assist with classroom preparation, grading, organization, and cleanup
- Monitor lunch, recess, study halls, and hallways to help maintain a safe and orderly environment
- Provide positive behavior support and reinforce school expectations
- Welcome visitors and assist with front desk responsibilities as needed
- Answer phones, communicate with parents, and assist with attendance
- Perform light cleaning and organizational tasks throughout the day
- Substitute for teachers when needed
- Assist administrators with projects and daily operational needs
- Seek out opportunities to serve rather than waiting to be assigned tasks
