Overview
Hopkins Law, PLLC is seeking an experienced Civil Litigation Paralegal to join our growing litigation team representing banks, mortgage servicers, mortgagees, and secured lienholders throughout Texas. Our small firm represents banks, mortgage servicers, lenders, and secured creditors in complex litigation and appeals in all counties and districts across the State of Texas.
This position offers challenging litigation work in both state and federal courts, increasing responsibility, and a collaborative environment where experienced paralegals play an integral role in every stage of litigation.
Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys with all phases of civil litigation, including case preparation, discovery, and trial support.
- Draft all pleadings required in life of litigation and appeal including petitions, answers, dispositive motions, discovery, and appellate briefs.
- Prepare electronic filings through PACER/CMECF and Texas eFile (ProDoc).
- Maintain litigation calendars with strict deadline management.
- Coordinate hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials.
- Manage large litigation caseloads from filing through appeal.
- Communicate with opposing counsel, courts, clients, and vendors.
- Supervise and train legal assistant staff.
- Review incoming filings for accuracy and calendaring..
Skills
- 3+ years civil litigation experience
- Texas state and federal litigation experience required. Will not accept out state experience for the 3 year requirement.
- Federal Court filings using PACER/CMECF
- State Court filings using ProDoc or Texas E-file platforms
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Ability to independently manage deadlines and attorney dockets
- Experience supporting multiple attorneys
- Strong writing skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for drafting documents and experience editing/ proofreading is essential.
- Knowledge of real estate, title or financial litigation not required.
Hybrid work is available to the right candidate, but candidate must reside in Austin, Texas and fully remote is not available.
Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
