Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated contracted Substitute Teacher to join our non traditional private school/ homeschool center educational team! In this vital role, you will step into classrooms across various grade levels and subject areas, ensuring seamless continuity of instruction when regular teachers are unavailable. This contract daily paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students’ lives while gaining valuable classroom experience in diverse educational settings.
Duties
- Deliver engaging lessons based on provided lesson plans, curriculum guidelines, and instructional materials
- Maintain classroom discipline and behavior management to create a safe, respectful environment for all students
- Implement curriculum development strategies tailored to different age groups and learning needs, including special education and early childhood education
- Organize classroom activities that promote creativity, literacy, math skills, and social-emotional development
- Adapt instructional methods to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with disabilities or developmental challenges such as autism
- Collaborate with school staff to ensure smooth transitions and effective communication regarding student progress and behavior
- Support childcare needs by supervising students during breaks, lunch periods, and extracurricular activities
Qualifications
- Prior classroom experience or substitute teaching experience preferred; familiarity with private school settings is a plus
- Strong knowledge of curriculum implementation across subjects like literacy education, math, creative writing, and Montessori methods
- Experience working with children with disabilities or developmental disabilities, including autism, is highly desirable
- Excellent classroom management skills with the ability to handle diverse behaviors confidently and professionally
- Demonstrated ability in lesson planning, classroom activity organization, and behavior management techniques
- Effective communication skills to engage with students, staff, and parents clearly and positively
- Background in early childhood education or childhood development strongly preferred; certification in special education or related fields is advantageous
