Position: Full-Time Licensed Counselor
Department: Grayson County Juvenile Services
Minimum Salary: $62,500.00 (Salary Minimum negotiable depending on experience)
Duties include, The Licensed Counselor will provide direct clinical services to youth under
but are not the care of the department. Services take place in a secure and non-secure
limited to the setting. This therapist is responsible to ensure coordination of service
following: delivery including providing individual, group and family counseling,
conducting programming, making referrals to community services, crisis
intervention, suicide evaluations, etc. This therapist will also serve as the
treatment provider for our specialty drug court programs. The therapist
participates in treatment and staff meetings, policy and procedure creation
and assists in program development. You may be expected to speak in front
of groups, testify in court, advocate for the clients and liaison with
community professionals.
Qualifications • Experience in counseling with youth and families preferred.
and • Master’s degree in behavioral health, counseling, or related field.
Requirements: • Licensure as an LPC, LPC Associate, LCSW, or LMSW preferred. Must
possess a current, valid professional counseling license in the State of
Texas. Must hold a current Texas LPC Associate license and be under
approved supervision.
- Bilingual a plus.
- Must be able to multi-task, work independently, and work within an
interdisciplinary team environment.
- Must have good communication skills and be capable of consistently
interacting with youth, parents, and outside agencies, and within a team
environment in a professional manner.
- Proficient with operating a personal computer and software.
- Must hold a valid driver’s license.
- Non-smoking office.
- Must pass a criminal background check, driving record check and drug
screen.

Hours: Flexible. Typically, 8:00 – 5:00 M-F; days and hours can vary based
upon youth and department needs.
