Position Summary
The Construction Project Manager is responsible for the successful execution of commercial plumbing construction projects from award through final completion. This role oversees project planning, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, contract administration, and customer communication while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and at or above target profitability.
Essential Responsibilities
- Manage multiple commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
- Develop and maintain project schedules while coordinating with field operations, subcontractors, vendors, and customers.
- Monitor project budgets, labor productivity, equipment, and material costs to maximize profitability.
- Review contracts, drawings, specifications, and project requirements to ensure successful execution.
- Process and manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, purchase orders, and project documentation.
- Prepare monthly project forecasts, cost reports, and billing.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, general contractors, engineers, and project stakeholders.
- Conduct regular jobsite visits to monitor progress, quality, safety, and schedule performance.
- Coordinate with Superintendents and field leadership to ensure labor resources and materials are aligned with project milestones.
- Identify project risks early and develop solutions to minimize schedule or budget impacts.
- Ensure projects comply with company standards, contract requirements, and applicable codes.
- Lead project closeout activities, including punch lists, final documentation, warranties, and customer turnover.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing commercial plumbing construction projects.
- Experience managing projects valued between $1 million and $20 million.
- Strong understanding of commercial plumbing systems.
- Proven experience managing budgets, forecasting costs, scheduling, and contract administration.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Experience with project management software such as Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Bluebeam, Sage, or similar platforms.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid Texas driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field experience.
- Mechanical contracting experience with commercial, healthcare, education, industrial, or multifamily projects.
- Experience with estimating, value engineering, and preconstruction services.
- OSHA 30 certification or equivalent safety training.
