Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Dental Hygienist to join our vibrant dental team. Responsibilities
- Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling and root planing, polishing, and fluoride treatments to maintain and improve patients’ oral health.
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history reviews, to ensure safe treatment planning.
- Assist the dentist during examinations.
- Take dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring proper technique and patient safety protocols are followed.
- Educate patients on proper dental care practices, including brushing, flossing, and preventive measures tailored to pediatric dentistry when applicable.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring HIPAA compliance and confidentiality.
- Follow infection prevention management protocols, including aseptic techniques and infection control standards to safeguard patient and staff health.
Skills
- Proficiency with dental software systems such as OpenDental for documentation review and EHR management.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and dental equipment operation.
- Experience with pediatric dentistry procedures and working with children in a clinical setting.
- Excellent client communication skills to educate patients effectively about their oral health needs.
- Familiarity with medical imaging techniques necessary for capturing high-quality dental X-rays.
- Understanding of healthcare infection prevention and control practices aligned with HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
