Position Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Paralegal to join our team and support legal operations across three key areas: immigration and visa processing, intellectual property and trademark management, and HR compliance. This is a unique opportunity to work cross-functionally in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment where your contributions will have direct and visible impact.
Key Responsibilities
Immigration & Visa
- Prepare and organize documentation for employment-based visa petitions (H-1B, TN, O-1, green card sponsorships, etc.)
- Coordinate with outside immigration counsel and government agencies to track case status and deadlines
- Maintain accurate records for all visa holders and ensure timely renewals and compliance filings
- Support employees through the immigration process by serving as the primary point of contact for status updates and document requests
Intellectual Property & Trademarks
- Manage the company's trademark portfolio including filing, renewals, and maintenance of domestic and international registrations
- Coordinate with outside IP counsel on new trademark applications, office actions, and oppositions
- Monitor for potential trademark infringement and assist in enforcement efforts
- Maintain organized records of all IP assets, licensing agreements, and related correspondence
- Conduct preliminary trademark searches and clearance research in support of new product or brand initiatives
HR & Compliance Support (Preferred)
- Assist HR with employment-related legal documentation including offer letters, NDAs, severance agreements, and policy updates
- Support I-9 and E-Verify compliance processes
- Help maintain employee records in accordance with applicable federal and state regulations
- Flag potential HR compliance issues and assist in researching applicable employment law requirements
Qualifications
- 3+ years of paralegal experience with a focus on immigration and/or intellectual property
- Demonstrated experience managing visa petitions and working with USCIS, DOL, or USPTO filings
- Familiarity with trademark prosecution processes and IP docketing systems
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with legal or IP management software a plus
- HR or employment law experience is a strong plus
