The Group Exercise Instructor is responsible for leading safe, fun, and effective group fitness classes that create a welcoming environment for all members. Instructors represent the Old Colony YMCA by providing high-quality classes that encourage member participation, retention, and recruitment.
Instructors are expected to arrive prepared, teach professionally, and deliver engaging workouts that are appropriate for all fitness levels while following YMCA standards and safety guidelines. They should create a positive, supportive atmosphere that helps members achieve their health and wellness goals.
Certified instructors preferred
Requirements:
- Current CPR, First Aid and Nationally recognized Group Fitness certifications
- Must regularly take continuing education courses in your area of practice to maintain certification or at least annually
- Must be able to think independently and develop/deliver class routines
- Must be alert and aware of signs of exercise-induced distress
