PAY RATE: Per Act 93
HOURS: Elementary: 8:00 AM-2:30 PM
Intermediate: 8:45 AM-3:30 PM
High School: 8:00 AM-3:00 PM

JOB SUMMARY AND JOB FUNCTIONS:

Language guides must interpret for students and parents in the district who speak a language other than English.

Language guides must translate documents that need to be translated into a language other than English.

Language guides must support EL students in the ELD classrooms and content area classrooms.

Language guides will be responsible for providing written and oral language support to principals, teachers, clerks, school nurses and school counselors and all district staff throughout the school day via phone, zoom or in person meetings.

Language guides will be responsible for answering emails throughout the school day.

Language guides will be responsible for making phone calls throughout the day.

Language guides will be responsible for supporting the English Language Development teacher in the ELD classroom and assisting with ELD paperwork.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
1. Ability to reach above and below the waist
2. Ability to use fingers to pick, feel and grasp objects
3. Some stooping, bending and twisting of the body required
4. Ability to lift and/or carry supplies and/or papers weighing no more than 20 lbs.
5. Ability to sit, stand, walk or move throughout the building and/or office, often for extended
periods of the workday.
SENSORY ABILITY
1. Visual acuity. Auditory acuity.
