Monday- Thursday: 7:45 AM – 6:30 PM (closed Fridays)
- Tuesday @ Tarboro location
- Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday @ Rocky Mount location

Specimen Collector will need to drive to Tarboro on Tuesdays (20 mins/19 miles away from Rocky Mount).
Dress attire is scrubs and have reliable transportation. Experience working in Athena EHR a plus
Pay rate $12-14/hour
Responsibilities:
- Collect, prepare and label specimens for laboratory testing
-Gather missing patient testing and insurance info when needed for billing purposes
- Follow established protocols and procedures for specimen collection and handling
- Maintain accurate records of collected specimens and patient information
- Adhere to safety and infection control policies and procedures
- Ensure proper storage and transportation of specimens to the laboratory
- Communicate with healthcare professionals and patients in a professional and compassionate manner
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a laboratory or healthcare setting is a plus
- Knowledge of laboratory techniques and procedures
-Working knowledge of EHR software (electronic health records)
- Familiarity with aseptic technique and proper specimen handling
- Understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Please note that this position may require working in a hospital or research laboratory environment.
