Production Technician Job Description
Summary:
The Production Technician shall support and effectively execute technical set ups of Thermoforming and CNC (3 and 5 axis) equipment as part of the operations process for product realization. The technical set ups shall include but may not be limited to ensuring the machines are “operator ready” as verified or validated through various means such as First Piece Pass and / or First Article Inspections. When required, the Production Technician shall work with qualified Machinists and Quality Technicians when set ups require CNC programming or 3D scanning as these tasks are not part of the role or responsibility of the Production Technician.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Demonstrates competency in choosing the correct fixtures / molds for setting up the assigned work orders.
2. Utilizes the correct set up sheets for equipment preparation and communicates opportunities for improvement as well as any discrepancies determined during initial quality checks.
3. Ensures the correct materials are chosen, prepared, and meet quality requirements prior to cycling assigned work orders.
4. Competently performs all quality checks to include but not limited to cosmetic and dimensional requirements as dictated by customer design / engineering drawings.
5. Validates / verifies product utilizing established quality protocols such as First Piece Pass and / or First Article Inspection criteria and produces / submits the appropriate documentation.
6. Maintains a clean, organized, and safe work place as directed by Kenson Plastics Inc. safety management system and 5S protocols which include adherence to proper Lock Out Tag Out as well as Confined Space procedures.
7. Ensures the proper use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment for him/herself as well as those in his/her area.
8. Upon the completion of the set up and verification of the first piece, provides feedback / guidance to operators to ensure they are aware of the quality checks required and any information relative to manufacturing quality products in a safe manner.
Other Responsibilities:
1. Attends appropriate training as required, takes ownership for learning and applying course content, and for disseminating knowledge as required.
2. Manages data effectively with respect to revision control, file management, and integrity.
Qualifications:
1. Ability to accurately perform mathematical calculations in assessing print specifications and final part sizes.
2. Ability to accurately utilize measuring tools and the mathematical requirements of these tools.
3. Ability to read, analyze and interpret customer specifications on technical drawings.
4. Incumbent must be able to perform all essential functions of the job with or without accommodations
5. Supports Kenson’s quality management system.
6. When required, must be able to utilize the Kenson business system and / or office software to access job information.
Education and/or Experience
1. High school diploma or equivalent is required.
2. Experience working with CNC and Thermoforming equipment.
3. Experience with changing molds and fixtures.
4. Experience with forming and trimming articles.
Pay: $22.17 - $29.12 per hour
