Pit Technician
REPORTS TO: Store Manager
SUMMARY
The Pit Technician is responsible for inspecting and servicing vehicles in a quick and thorough manner for our customers, creating a superior environment through friendliness and professionalism. This position will adhere to and promote the Express Oil Change & Tire Engineers mission while operating within the confines of our company’s core values. All Hood Techs will contribute to team success under the guidance and direction of the Store Manager.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Complete work accurately and quickly allowing customers to remain in their vehicles
- Service grease fittings, universal joints and steering knuckles, using hand or compressed air powered grease gun
- Inspect fluid levels of rear differential and rear axle housings
- Inspect vehicles for additional repairs needed
- Advise Service Consultant and/or VSI for additional mechanical service work
- Inspect belts, tires, steering components, drain pains, seals, and other under-car components
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Exposure to inclement weather
- Ability to operate an automobile
- Prolonged periods of standing, stooping, and bending
- Exerting 50 - 100 lbs of force occasionally and/or 10 - 25 lbs of force frequently and/or greater than 10 lbs of force constantly to move objects
- Requires walking or standing to a significant degree, or requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and or pulling of arm or leg controls
- Requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials

- Bay times average less than 12 minutes

- Basic Oil Bay Training
- Pass the PT Certification Test
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour

Experience:
- Automotive repair: 1 year (Preferred)
- Customer service: 1 year (Preferred)
