Key Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Yard Helper will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Transport material through the shop/yard.
- Load trailers safely and efficiently.
- Forklift operation.
- Crane/hoist operation.
- Correctly fill out and maintain paperwork for outgoing loads.
- Maintain proper records for inventory management.
- Unload incoming material.
- Perform yard receiving and inventory control.
- Pull material for production.
- Handle processed materials for staging, storage, and shipping.
- Stage and/or build loads for painting, galvanizing, and shipping.
- Assure that quality of processed materials is kept during handling.
- Provide equipment support at saw.
- Other duties as determined by Supervisor.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. repetitively.
- Physical ability to work and maneuver around work areas.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read and follow written instruction.
- Able to pass Random DOT & Company drug test.
- Clean Driving Record.
- Good math skills.
