WHY DO WE NEED YOU?
The California RTR territory supports retail locations across the Sacramento, Los Angeles, and San Diego. Reporting to the appropriate sales leader, this role drives growth across multiple retail product categories and strategic retail accounts. As the primary field representative for retail customers, the RTR builds strong relationships, delivers merchandising excellence, supports customer success, and advances the CertainTeed strategy.
- Manage and grow an assigned retail territory, driving sales and category growth across insulation, roofing, screens, and other retail product lines.
- Conduct regular store visits to support retail execution, merchandising, customer engagement, and sales growth.
- Promote and uphold CertainTeed/Saint-Gobain's safety culture through safe work practices and ethical conduct.
- Deliver product training, demonstrations, and presentations on product features, installation methods, and selling techniques.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with store leadership, department managers, associates, pro customers, contractors, and sales representatives.
- Partner with sales leadership, national account teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to support strategic initiatives and business growth.
- Support contractor events, promotions, product launches, merchandising resets, store conversions, and new product introductions.
- Execute merchandising programs and maintain point-of-purchase displays to ensure effective product presentation and brand visibility.
- Track sales activities, customer interactions, competitive intelligence, pricing, assortment, and merchandising compliance through CRM tools.
- Identify opportunities to expand product representation in-store and online.
- Coordinate marketing and promotional programs designed to increase product awareness and sales performance.
- Achieve territory objectives while delivering exceptional service and support to retail partners and customers.
- Serve as a trusted business partner through strong customer service, professionalism, and relationship-building skills.
- Work independently while effectively managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Participate in Retail Core Team meetings and support retail growth strategies.
- Collaborate with Retail, National Accounts, Marketing, and Business Unit teams to achieve territory objectives.
- Analyze retail opportunities and help resolve operational, merchandising, and sales challenges.
- Adapt to changing customer needs, market conditions, and business priorities.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2-5+ years of experience in retail sales, territory sales, merchandising, account management, building materials, home improvement, or a related field preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and virtual meeting platforms.
- Knowledge of sales, merchandising, product promotion, customer engagement, and marketing principles.
- Experience delivering product demonstrations, training, presentations, and customer-facing sales support.
- Strong presentation, communication, listening, and influencing skills, both written and verbal.
- Interest in promoting, demonstrating, and training others on building materials and related products.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Customer-focused mindset with strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to adapt to changing business needs, market conditions, and customer requirements.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively within the assigned territory, including overnight travel as needed.

BENEFITS IN JOINING US
Certain locations require pay information be provided in job postings. Saint-Gobain aims to deliver a comprehensive Total Rewards package to support our employees’ wellbeing and help improve daily life for themselves and their families. We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer potential candidates. Provided is the national pay range for this position which is $70,500 to $109,500 per year. However, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 9% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $76,800 to $119,300. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.
