Duties
- Greet guests warmly and guide them through the menu, highlighting specials and upselling opportunities to enhance their experience
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring timely and correct processing of sales transactions
- Prepare and serve a variety of beverages, including cocktails, spirits, wine, and non-alcoholic options, demonstrating cocktail experience and spirits knowledge
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards by bussing tables, cleaning bar areas, and adhering to food safety protocols
- Assist with food handling and basic food preparation tasks to support kitchen staff during busy periods
- Manage guest relations by providing attentive service, addressing concerns promptly, and ensuring guest satisfaction throughout their visit
- Support opening and closing procedures, including cash handling, inventory management, and restocking supplies
Qualifications
- Previous restaurant or food service experience, preferably in fine dining or high-volume environments
- Strong knowledge of POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS; experience with OpenTable is a plus
- Demonstrated skills in upselling beverages and food items to maximize sales opportunities
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, energetic attitude
- Ability to manage time effectively during busy shifts while maintaining attention to detail
- Knowledge of wine varieties, spirits, cocktail preparation, and food safety standards
- Experience with serving alcohol responsibly and understanding applicable liquor laws
- Basic math skills for cash handling and sales transaction processing
- Hospitality background with experience in guest relations, bussing, host/hostess duties or kitchen support is highly desirable
