Duties
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process customer transactions quickly and efficiently
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing questions, assisting with product selections, and offering product demos when appropriate
- Handle cash, credit, and debit card payments with precision and confidence, ensuring proper cash handling procedures
- Upsell products and promotions to enhance sales opportunities while maintaining a friendly approach
- Assist with merchandising tasks such as stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are well-presented
- Maintain knowledge of store products to assist customers effectively and promote retail sales
- Use phone etiquette skills to answer inquiries professionally and direct calls as needed
Skills
- Proven experience with POS systems and cashiering duties in a retail or grocery store setting
- Supervising experience is a plus, demonstrating leadership in team settings
- Ability to conduct product demos confidently to engage customers and boost sales
- Bilingual skills are highly valued for communicating effectively with diverse customer groups
- Strong communication skills for clear interactions with customers and team members
- Basic math skills for handling transactions accurately and performing retail math calculations
- Knowledge of grocery store operations, merchandising, stock management, and upselling techniques
