Harborside Spine and Sports Center is seeking a full-time Advanced Practice Professional for our Gaylord location. The right candidate will take over a full practice of patients in collaboration with the on-site, board-certified physical medicine and rehabilitation physician. General Job Duties Include
- Provide direct patient care and management of acute and chronic pain conditions.
- Perform detailed history and physical examinations and develop appropriate management plans.
- Develop problem-based care plans, prescribe medications, and perform injections with ultrasound or fluoroscopic guidance.
- Order and interpret diagnostic labs, radiologic studies, ancillary testing.
- Provide timely and effective communication of patient needs to internal and external healthcare providers.
- Effectively communicate clinical information and follow up plans to patients.
- Work effectively with and serve as a clinical resource for HSSC colleagues.
Requirements
NP:
- Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner specialty certification in the State of Michigan.
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- Certification as a Nurse Practitioner recognized by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN).
- Current DEA registration required
- Basic Life Support Certification
PA:
- Completion of a Physician Assistant program accredited by Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) or one of its predecessor agencies, CAHEA or CAAHEP.
- Certification by the National Commission on Certification for Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant in the State of Michigan.
- State of Michigan Controlled Substance License Required
- Current DEA registration required
- Basic Life Support Certification
Desired Qualifications
- At least 1-2 years of experience (within the last 5 years) as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in a direct care setting.
- Demonstrated ability to complete history and physical examinations; order appropriate diagnostic studies, synthesize information and make informed clinical decisions; develop appropriate care plans; and be responsive to patient and family preferences.
- Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize assignments and manage a busy work environment.
- The provider must demonstrate a high level of critical thinking and medical knowledge by using current medical information and scientific evidence for patient care.
- Demonstrated ability to carrying out professional responsibilities, adherence to ethical principles and sensitivity to diversity.
