Senior Commissioning Engineer – Warehouse & Conveyor Automation
IC Pro Americas Inc. is seeking a highly experienced Senior Commissioning Engineer – Industrial Automation to lead the commissioning, startup, troubleshooting, and customer acceptance of large-scale warehouse automation and conveyor material handling systems.
The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience commissioning automated conveyor systems, sortation systems, material handling equipment, warehouse automation systems, PLC controls, and Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation platforms.
This is a field-focused leadership position requiring strong troubleshooting skills, customer interaction, and the ability to lead commissioning activities from installation through final system acceptance.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the commissioning, startup, testing, and troubleshooting of automated conveyor and warehouse automation systems.
- Commission and troubleshoot conveyor belts, powered conveyor systems, sortation systems, accumulation conveyors, transfers, diverters, merges, scanners, sensors, and automated material handling equipment.
- Lead commissioning activities for warehouse fulfillment and distribution center automation systems.
- Perform I/O checkout, point-to-point verification, loop checks, sensor calibration, actuator testing, and equipment validation.
- Lead Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).
- Load, validate, troubleshoot, modify, and optimize PLC programs using Studio 5000 and RSLogix 5000.
- Configure and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley ControlLogix, CompactLogix, and GuardLogix PLC systems.
- Configure and troubleshoot FactoryTalk View ME/SE HMI systems.
- Commission and troubleshoot PowerFlex VFDs, Kinetix servo systems, motor controls, and conveyor drives.
- Troubleshoot industrial communication networks including EtherNet/IP, DLR, DeviceNet, and AS-i.
- Validate safety systems including safety PLCs, emergency stops, light curtains, safety gates, and safety interlocks.
- Lead field troubleshooting during system startup, production ramp-up, and operational handover.
- Identify and resolve conveyor and automation issues while minimizing production downtime.
- Coordinate with electrical installation teams, controls engineers, OEMs, subcontractors, project managers, and customer operations teams.
- Lead and mentor junior commissioning and controls engineers.
- Support customer training and final system acceptance.
- Prepare commissioning reports, punch lists, software backups, as-built documentation, and handover documentation.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in industrial automation, controls engineering, commissioning, or field service.
- Strong hands-on experience with warehouse automation, conveyor systems, or material handling automation.
- Proven experience commissioning automated conveyor systems in warehouses, distribution centers, fulfillment centers, manufacturing facilities, or similar environments.
- Strong hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation PLC systems.

- Extensive experience with PLC troubleshooting, conveyor controls, sensors, motors, VFDs, actuators, and industrial automation equipment.
- Experience leading FAT, SAT, startup, commissioning, and production ramp-up activities.
- Strong understanding of EtherNet/IP and industrial automation networks.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, control drawings, and P&IDs.
- Proven ability to lead commissioning teams and coordinate multiple contractors and technical disciplines.
- Strong customer-facing, communication, troubleshooting, and leadership skills.
- Ability to travel 100% to customer sites.
- Ability to work 6 days per week and 12-hour shifts during major commissioning projects.
