Busy real estate law firm seeking an experienced real estate paralegal with 1-3 years of direct experience in supporting attorneys in both lender representation and real estate transactions.
Real estate paralegal will lend primary support to firm attorneys in residential and commercial settlement and lender representation and real estate transactions.
The ideal candidate will have experience as a banking paralegal (familiar with settlement and lender representation) along with transactional real estate experience. Knowledge of CloseIT and DigitalRE systems is a plus.
Duties include but not limited to:
-assisting attorneys with all aspects of banking, settlement and real estate transactions
-opening, maintaining and organizing files and maintaining the file system of the organization
-assist with preparation of documents necessary for settlement and lender representation such as closing disclosures, HUD1 statements, notes and mortgages, closing packages, lender figures, etc.
-effectively drafting, reviewing and responding to communications with clients, attorneys, title companies and lenders via telephone and electronic or written means
-keeping clients, title companies, brokers etc informed on the progress of files and status of files as necessary
-scheduling calendar matters for attorney (closing, contract signing etc)
-assisting with drafting preliminary documents like contracts of sale, riders, addenda and other pertinent documents
-assist with preparation of documents necessary for settlement and lender representation such as closing disclosures, HUD1 statements, notes and mortgages, etc.
-maintaining active files and conducting preliminary review of title reports, mortgage documents, contracts etc, and preparing summaries for attorney
-working with lenders and title companies in providing documentation or requesting documentation in furtherance of clients needs and closing
-preparing preliminary figures for closing and closing documents
-preparing closing statements
-collecting closed files and creating a closing binder, to be scanned, and purging the physical files while following firm protocols
The ideal candidate will meet most if not all of the following criteria: be a self-starter, organized, motivated individual who can follow directions and also work in a fast- paced (sometimes very demanding) environment. Ability to prioritize tasks in real time is important.
Must be proficient with Microsoft outlook Microsoft Word Microsoft excel. The office relies heavily on technology and systems and the candidate will be expected to utilize all systems daily.
A pleasant demeanor and interpersonal communication skills are necessary for effective communication with clients, attorneys, professionals and other staff. Looking for someone who will grow with our fast growing firm and become part of our family.
Salary range is 50k-60k depending on experience. This is NOT an entry level position. We are seeking a candidate with direct experience in the lender representation category. Candidates without experience need not apply.
