Overview

Duties
- Assist dentists chairside during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control protocols are strictly followed
- Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans, ensuring accurate positioning and patient safety in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, and Epic to document patient information accurately and efficiently
- Perform vital signs assessments and medical documentation to support comprehensive patient care
- Provide dental reception duties by scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and assisting with patient inquiries
- Support four-handed dentistry practices to optimize workflow and reduce procedure times
Experience
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a fast-paced dental clinic environment with knowledge of general dentistry procedures
- Familiarity with dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding for accurate record keeping
- Hands-on experience with EMR systems like Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic is highly preferred
- Knowledge of infection control standards, aseptic techniques, and anatomy relevant to dental assisting
- Experience assisting with pediatric dentistry procedures is a strong plus
- Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners safely and effectively
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations related to medical records privacy and security
