Join our dynamic team as a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A Truck Driver and take the wheel of a versatile fleet dedicated to delivering essential freight across diverse routes. This role offers an exciting opportunity to operate a variety of vehicles, including tractor-trailers, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and specialized equipment like dump trucks and roll-off trucks. As a CDL A driver, you'll be at the forefront of logistics, ensuring timely and safe delivery of freight while adhering to all safety regulations and industry standards. Your expertise will keep goods moving efficiently, supporting our commitment to exceptional service and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks and tractor-trailers across over-the-road (OTR) routes, ensuring compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards.
- Load and unload freight using manual handling techniques or equipment such as forklifts, ensuring proper cargo securement for transport.
- Navigate using GPS systems to plan optimal routes, avoiding hazards and ensuring timely deliveries.
- Transport a variety of cargo including refrigerated goods, hazardous materials (hazmat), dangerous goods, and specialty items like automobile transportation or tanker loads.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicles, checking for mechanical issues, safety equipment, and load security.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery documentation, and compliance with hazardous materials regulations.
- Deliver freight efficiently while managing route driving schedules; handle truck loading/unloading processes at multiple stops with professionalism and precision.
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a valid CDL A license.
- Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbed trucks, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, or other specialized equipment is preferred.
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT requirements, hazardous materials regulations (hazmat), and safety protocols for dangerous goods handling.
- Experience with route driving on over-the-road (OTR) routes or local delivery routes is highly desirable.
- Ability to operate manual transmission trucks confidently and handle logistics cargo effectively.
- Previous delivery driver experience involving truck loading/unloading or freight handling is advantageous.
- Certification in forklift operation or other equipment used in cargo handling can be a plus but is not mandatory.
