About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to take ownership of purchasing activities for our component supply base. This position will be a key member of a small, collaborative Supply Chain team and will report directly to the Director of Supply Chain Management.
The Senior Buyer will work closely with Operations, Sales, Customer Assurance, and international suppliers to ensure the right components are available at the right cost, quality, and time.
Because many of our suppliers are located in Korea, fluency in Korean is required. The ideal candidate will be comfortable communicating directly with international suppliers, negotiating pricing and terms, resolving supply issues, and working across APAC time zones.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze ERP data to support purchasing decisions and achieve cost, quality, and delivery objectives.
- Manage and strengthen relationships with suppliers throughout Korea, China, and the broader APAC region.
- Create and manage purchase orders, including multi-process orders.
- Coordinate inbound logistics and monitor supplier deliveries.
- Review exception reports and adjust purchase orders based on changes in customer demand and production schedules.
- Develop and execute demand plans to maintain appropriate inventory levels and minimize expedited freight.
- Identify, source, and qualify alternate suppliers to improve cost, quality, and supply chain resilience.
- Conduct supplier audits, both virtually and on-site, as needed.
- Lead inventory cycle counts, investigate discrepancies, and reconcile ERP inventory records.
- Monitor and report supplier and inventory performance metrics.
- Identify opportunities to improve purchasing and supply chain processes.
- Partner with the General Manager and cross-functional teams on pricing, delivery issues, and sourcing strategies.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records, purchase orders, supplier communications, and related documentation.
- Travel to supplier facilities for audits as needed, generally less than 10% of the time.
- Work flexible hours when necessary to coordinate with APAC suppliers and time zones.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, inventory management, or supply chain, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Fluency in Korean, written and verbal, for direct communication with international suppliers.
- Strong experience with ERP systems, particularly purchasing and inventory modules.
- Proven experience managing and negotiating with domestic and international suppliers.
- Advanced Excel skills with strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively across multiple time zones.
- Experience with domestic and global sourcing.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple projects.
- Strong documentation and record-keeping skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or a related field.
- ASCM/APICS certification.
- Six Sigma certification.
- Manufacturing or component purchasing experience.
- Experience managing suppliers in Korea, China, or other APAC markets.
Work Location
This is an on-site position with no remote option.
- 2 days per week: Jefferson, OR
- 3 days per week: Lake Oswego/Beaverton, OR
The company is establishing a new office in Beaverton and expects to close the Lake Oswego office toward the end of September. Once the transition is complete, the three days currently based in Lake Oswego will move to the new Beaverton location.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
