Department: HME
Location: Based out of our main office located in Missoula, MT, may require travel to other counties within our service area.
Schedule: Typically Monday-Friday, with flexibility for occasional evenings/weekends as needed to support staffing and patient needs.
Job Summary:
The Patient Service Technician delivers oxygen and home medical supplies to the residents of clients - maintains, assembles, cleans, and repairs equipment related to durable medical equipment, oxygen systems, respiratory equipment and specialty items - provides client training on use of home medical equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Drives delivery vehicle to residences and health care facilities in varied weather conditions.
- Completes initial set-up of oxygen and home medical equipment in a timely and courteous manner.
- Completes all paperwork required by agency and third-party payor standards. Documentation is complete, accurate and done in a timely manner.
- Adheres to driving standards established by the agency.
- Performs routine preventive maintenance and calibration on equipment as assigned. Performs troubleshooting according to expertise and reports all equipment malfunctions to appropriate HME staff.
- Assists in maintaining inventory par levels. Reports reorder requests to supervisor.
- Participates in on-call schedule for after-hours and emergency requests.
- Participates in dispatch responsibilities on a rotation with other Patient Service Technicians.
- Follows department infection control policies concerning safety and universal precautions. Cleans and maintains medical equipment as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
Qualifications include high school diploma or equivalent required, valid driver’s license. Prior experience in durable medical equipment or related field is preferred.
