Immediately seeking in-person school-based Speech-Language Pathologists (CF/CCC) to provide services to students with speech and language impairments (3-21 years of age) throughout Collier County, Florida for the 26/27 SY. The speech-language pathologist will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, treating and developing plans of care to help improve, maintain and restore skills for students. Must be Florida licensed to practice as an SLP. Master of Sciences in Communication Disorders preferred (M.S.). Adherence to the Code of Ethics and Practice Standards as outlined by The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Must be fluent in written and verbal English. School-based experience preferred but not required.
Job Description of a Speech Language Pathologist
The responsibilities of the SLPs include but not limited to:
- Conduct screenings to assess a client’s speech and language challenges.
- Evaluate and diagnose speech, language and communication disorders.
- Develop an appropriate treatment plan.
- Provide rehabilitation or communication strategies for those who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Train, communicate and educate IEP team members of those with communication disorders.
- Offer augmentative and alternative communication systems for clients who experience challenges with severe social expression or language comprehension disorders, such as those on the autism spectrum.
- Use an interdisciplinary approach to address a student’s communication needs.
- Complete administrative tasks, including the recording of a student’s progress during and after treatment and the maintenance of student records daily.
- Participate in Individual Education Plans (IEP's).
