Junior Agricultural Equipment Mechanic
Location: Colusa County
Pay: $21.00 – $24.00 per hour (DOE)
Job Type: Full-Time
Shift: During harvest season (July–October), mechanics typically work M-Sat 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM to support peak operations. Following harvest, the schedule transitions to a M-F 40-hour workweek.

Express Employment Professionals in Yuba City is partnering with a well-established agricultural operation in the Colusa County area to hire a Junior Agricultural Equipment Mechanic.
This is an excellent opportunity for a developing mechanic looking to grow their career in the agricultural industry. Working alongside experienced technicians, you'll perform preventative maintenance, assist with diagnostics, and repair a variety of equipment supporting orchard and harvest operations. Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance on tractors, harvest equipment, sweepers, conditioners, bank-outs, trailers, forklifts, and support equipment
- Assist with diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and A/C components
- Respond to equipment breakdowns in both shop and field environments
- Inspect equipment and identify maintenance concerns before failures occur
- Complete routine repairs including belts, bearings, hoses, filters, brakes, and mechanical components
- Assist with light welding and fabrication projects as needed
- Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe
- Follow all company safety procedures, including lockout/tagout requirements
- Support orchard and harvest operations as needed
Qualifications
- 2–4 years of experience repairing agricultural equipment, diesel engines, heavy equipment, automotive equipment, or similar machinery
- Working knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and preventative maintenance
- Ability to troubleshoot routine mechanical issues while continuing to develop diagnostic skills
- Welding and fabrication experience is a plus
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid California Driver License required
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Willingness to work extended hours during harvest season (July–October)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, climb, and work in confined spaces for extended periods
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, welders, jacks, lifts, and diagnostic equipment
- Comfortable working around machinery, grease, oils, chemicals, dust, and noise
Compensation & Benefits
