We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cook/Prep to join our culinary team. Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and cook meals according to established recipes and menu specifications
- Assist with menu planning to ensure variety and nutritional balance
- Handle food safely, adhering to all food safety regulations and guidelines
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper storage of ingredients
- Use knife skills efficiently for chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients
- Support catering events and special meal preparations as needed
- Serve meals in accordance with dietary requirements and customer expectations
- Assist with food presentation to ensure appealing dish appearance
- Follow all health department regulations and safety procedures during food handling and preparation
Qualifications
- Previous experience in dietary departments, food service, or culinary roles preferred
- Knowledge of menu planning, meal preparation, and cooking techniques
- Strong understanding of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Experience with kitchen equipment, knife skills, and food industry best practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to follow recipes accurately
- Experience in catering or serving is a plus
- Prior dietary aide or restaurant experience is desirable but not required
