Position Summary: We are seeking a hardworking and dependable General Laborer to join our shop team. You will play a vital role in our production and installation process, assisting with the preparation, assembly, and installation of premium storage products (such as Adrian Steel, Masterack, and Weatherguard) into customer vehicles. This is a physically active role that requires attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining our high standards of quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation Support: Assist lead installers in the mounting and assembly of shelving units, partitions, lockers, and ladder racks within various vehicle types (vans, trucks, and flatbeds).
- Material Handling: Safely load and unload shipments of industrial steel and aluminum products. Organize inventory within our 72,500 sq. ft. facility to ensure a smooth workflow.
- Shop Maintenance: Maintain a clean and safe workspace in accordance with company safety standards. Perform routine cleaning and organization of tools and shop equipment.
- Product Preparation: Use basic hand and power tools to prep vehicle interiors and assemble storage components prior to installation.
- Quality Control: Visually inspect products and completed installations to ensure they meet ABS Storage Products' "24-hour turnaround" quality standards.
- Safety Adherence: Follow all company safety protocols, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safe lifting techniques.
Job Requirements
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs consistently throughout the day. Comfortable working inside vehicle cargo areas.
- Technical Aptitude: Experience with basic hand and power tools (drills, wrenches, saws, etc.). Prior experience in automotive upfitting, construction, or manufacturing is a plus.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to follow specific installation diagrams and verbal instructions accurately to ensure customer vehicles are upfitted correctly.
- Reliability: A strong work ethic with a track record of punctuality and consistent attendance.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively within a team-oriented shop environment.
- Safety Mindset: A commitment to maintaining a hazard-free work environment and adhering to all safety guidelines.
Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
