Key Duties for Part-Time Payroll Specialist:
-
Process biweekly full-cycle payroll for salaried and hourly employees using Paylocity
-
Audit payroll and timekeeping data weekly for accuracy and compliance
-
Maintain and correct timekeeping records and resolve discrepancies
-
Issue pay adjustments for errors and retroactive changes
-
Manage and maintain employee data across ERP, HRIS, and payroll systems
-
Process employee updates including hires, terminations, promotions, and compensation or benefits changes
-
Support monthly accrual reconciliation
-
Serve as primary contact for payroll inquiries from employees and managers
-
Coordinate with Paylocity support to resolve payroll and system issues
-
Build and maintain payroll reports, workflows, and policies in Paylocity
-
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and internal policies
-
Communicate with tax agencies and providers on account setup, notices, and rate changes
-
Support multi-state payroll operations
-
Collaborate with HR and accounting teams as needed
-
Process and review biweekly prevailing wage certified payroll reports
-
Audit DIR wage determinations and update ERP records
-
Ensure compliance with Davis-Bacon Act and California DIR requirement
-
Follow all policies and safety procedures in place\

Completes any other related tasks as needed
Qualifications for Part-Time Payroll Specialist:
-
High school diploma or equivalent
-
3–5+ years of payroll experience including full-cycle payroll processing
-
Strong knowledge of prevailing wage laws and compliance requirements
-
Experience using HCM and payroll systems such as ADP, Paycor, or Paylocity for payroll processing, audits, and data management
-
Strong understanding of payroll compliance, California wage and hour laws, and tax regulations
-
Experience auditing payroll and timekeeping data with a high level of accuracy
-
Ability to troubleshoot payroll issues and manage corrections independently
-
Experience communicating with state tax agencies and handling payroll notices
-
Strong communication skills to support employees, leadership, and accounting teams
-
Highly organized with strong attention to detail and discretion
-
Experience with Paylocity preferred but not required
