Who we're looking for
Health insurance advocates/enrollers who will help our clientele, who are predominantly creatives and make up approximately 50% of Nashville’s active music industry, navigate the Open Enrollment season to find the optimal solution. You must be a licensed health & life insurance agent in the state of Tennessee (or be willing to become licensed as part of your training) with a strong understanding of the individual health insurance marketplace (both ACA and non-ACA).
Our ideal candidate is someone who:
- Is genuinely a people person
- Has exceptional verbal communication skills
- Can explain complicated ideas simply without talking down to people
- Is highly organized and capable of managing lots of details
- Is persistent, resourceful, and comfortable navigating bureaucracy
- Has strong emotional intelligence and good judgment
- Can adapt their communication style to different personalities
- Doesn't get rattled when things become complicated
- Takes ownership and follows things through to completion
- Understands that good service sometimes means doing the extra thing nobody technically asked you to do
And ideally...
You have some connection to the creative world.
Maybe you're a musician. Maybe you're an artist, performer, producer, designer, writer, photographer, filmmaker, or creative professional yourself. Maybe you've worked in the music industry or have always wanted to.
You understand that creative people often communicate differently, work differently, and think differently.
You understand nuance.
You can have a conversation with someone who is highly sophisticated in their own field but has absolutely no interest in learning the vocabulary of health insurance — and you can meet them where they are.
That ability is incredibly valuable here.
About Sound Healthcare
Sound Healthcare specializes in helping people in the music industry navigate health insurance solutions.
Our philosophy is simple: Healthcare should be understandable. People should have an advocate. And nobody should have to become an insurance expert just to get the coverage they need.
During Open Enrollment, our team becomes the bridge between our clients and an incredibly complicated system. We're looking for people who take that responsibility seriously — and who genuinely enjoy helping people.
This Position
This is a seasonal role that will ideally run from mid-September through January (with the opportunity to stay on the team given exceptional performance). This is an on-site role, operating out of our Nashville office in the Germantown neighborhood. We are only looking for candidates with availability to work 9-5 Monday through Friday.
Work Location: In person
