Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Dump Truck Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating dump trucks to transport materials such as gravel, dirt, debris, and other bulk loads to various job sites. Your expertise in truck driving, route navigation, and load management will ensure timely deliveries while maintaining the highest safety standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to large-scale construction and infrastructure projects with a focus on efficiency and safety.
Responsibilities
- Operate dump trucks and other heavy-duty vehicles such as roll-off trucks and tractor-trailers with precision and care.
- Load, unload, and secure freight efficiently using appropriate equipment like forklifts when necessary.
- Follow designated routes driving across construction sites, industrial yards, or delivery locations while adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance.
- Maintain accurate logs of deliveries, routes, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance records.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, site managers, and team members to coordinate delivery schedules.
- Assist with loading or unloading materials when required, ensuring proper handling of heavy or hazardous loads such as tanker or refrigerated trailer freight.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience operating dump trucks, tractor-trailers, or similar heavy-duty vehicles in a commercial setting.
- Knowledge of manual transmission operation preferred.
- Experience driving refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or freight delivery vehicles is advantageous.
- Ability to load & unload freight safely using appropriate equipment like forklifts or roll-off trucks.
- Strong understanding of route planning and navigation in various environments.
- Physical stamina to handle long hours on the road and perform vehicle inspections regularly.
