Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Step Down Registered Nurse (RN) for a contract opportunity in Birmingham, Alabama. The ideal candidate will have strong Step Down/PCU experience and be comfortable caring for patients who require close monitoring and advanced nursing care.
Position Details

- Experience: Minimum 2 years of nursing experience

- EMR: Cerner
Requirements
- Active Alabama RN License
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
- Previous travel nursing experience
- Cerner experience preferred/required
- Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, high-quality nursing care to Step Down patients
- Monitor patients requiring increased observation and cardiac/clinical monitoring
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders
- Collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary care team
- Accurately document patient care in Cerner
- Respond promptly to changes in patient condition
