Overview
Join us as a Part-Time After School Art Teacher dedicated to inspiring creativity and fostering artistic growth in young learners. This is a very part-time job with working hours taking place after school (between 2:10pm-5:15pm depending on the school). Classes are 1 hour after school, total shift time is 1.5 hours with set up and clean up.
Mileage available for anyone traveling over 15 miles one way to a school location.
Additional hours with subbing or helping with birthday parties.
Training will take place in early September and classes start Mid-late September.
Duties
- Plan and deliver engaging after-school art lessons tailored to various age groups and developmental stages
- Manage classroom behavior effectively, maintaining a positive and respectful environment that encourages participation
- Incorporate elements of childhood development and early childhood education into lesson plans to support individual learning needs
- Supervise children during art activities, ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student progress, achievements, and upcoming projects
- Maintain clean, organized art supplies and workspaces to promote safety and efficiency
- Collaborate with other staff members to integrate art projects into broader educational or community programs
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children in educational, childcare, camp, or tutoring settings
- Knowledge of classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies
- Ability to incorporate special education principles when working with diverse learners
- Basic first aid certification or willingness to obtain upon hire for safety assurance
- Strong background in teaching or arts education, with an understanding of childhood development principles
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and team members
- Passion for fostering creativity through arts while supporting the social-emotional growth of students

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
