MOPA is a well-established low-voltage installation and public safety communications company based in Draper, Utah. We design and install:
- Structured cabling
- Business and public safety communications equipment
- Network equipment and Wi-Fi
- Cellular and public safety repeaters
- Land mobile radios (LMR)
- Microwave point-to-point links
- Telecom systems
- Audio/Video systems
- Security cameras and related infrastructure
We are hiring experienced installer/technicians for installing, testing, and troubleshooting low-voltage systems in commercial/industrial environments. Work will include structured cabling, A/V, CCTV, networking, and basic IT. The right candidate is a self-motivated, detail-oriented technician who can work independently, support a team, and represent MOPA professionally on job sites.
Responsibilities
- Install, test, and certify CAT 6, fiber, coax, and AV cabling
- Pre-wire and retrofit commercial and industrial buildings for data, audio/video, cameras, access control, and other low-voltage systems
- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and job bids
- Troubleshoot and resolve network, AV, and connectivity issues
- Work at various heights using lifts and ladders, and in confined spaces as required
- Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and internal teams
- Maintain project progress reports and assist with system testing and commissioning
- Ensure all installations meet NEC, BICSI, manufacturer, and customer standards
- Enforce safety compliance and maintain a clean, organized job site
Qualifications
- Experience with network, audio/video, and structured cabling
- Full-time availability (40 hours, local with some statewide travel)
- OSHA 10 Certification required within 30 days of hire
- BICSI Level 1 Certification or equivalent preferred
Additional Requirements
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to distinguish colors used in telecommunications wiring
- Valid Utah driver’s license
- Clean driving record with no DUIs
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Must pass a BCI background check and pre-employment drug screening
- Must have reliable transportation to and from the shop in Draper, Utah
- Must possess personal hand tools and small power tools appropriate for low-voltage work
- Must have a cell phone with a data plan

Experience:
- Low Voltage Network Cabling (CAT6, Fiber, etc): 2 years (Preferred)
- Commercial Audio Video and Structured Cabling: 2 years (Required)
