Position Overview
Oxford's aerospace and defense client is seeking a Software Group Lead to support development of advanced robotics and UAV systems. This role combines hands-on embedded software development with technical leadership, overseeing a small team while contributing directly to architecture, development, and system integration. The work supports mission-critical programs and requires strong experience in Embedded C/C++, RTOS, and Linux-based systems.
Responsibilities
- Serve as technical lead for a team of embedded software engineers
- Design, develop, debug, and maintain embedded software using C/C++
- Lead development in RTOS and embedded Linux environments
- Support robotics and UAV/autonomous system software development
- Participate in system architecture, design reviews, and technical planning
- Support hardware/software integration, bring-up, and troubleshooting
- Collaborate closely with systems, hardware, and test engineering teams
- Ensure software meets program, performance, and reliability requirements
Required Qualifications
- Active Secret clearance
- Strong experience with Embedded C/C++ development
- Experience working in RTOS environments
- Experience with embedded Linux systems
- Background supporting robotics, autonomous systems, or UAV platforms
- Prior experience in a technical lead or group lead role
- Ability to work fully onsite in Tampa, FL

Pay: $130,000.00 - $155,000.00 per year
