Responsibilities
- Administer prescribed medications accurately and safely following all HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards
- Monitor residents’ vital signs and assess physiological responses to treatments, ensuring optimal health outcomes
- Maintain detailed medical records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems such as Epic or Cerner
- Support residents with activities of daily living, including mobility assistance, catheter care, tube feeding, and hygiene needs
- Observe and report changes in residents’ conditions related to dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, or other memory care challenges
- Assist with medical procedures such as blood pressure checks, medication reconciliation, and documentation of medical terminology
- Collaborate closely with nursing staff and healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive patient care in compliance with state and federal regulations
Experience
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments preferred
- Familiarity with medical office procedures, including medical records management and medical documentation practices
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to senior care and hospice settings
- Hands-on experience administering medications, including injections or tube feedings in compliance with safety protocols
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments such as dementia or Alzheimer’s disease
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner is highly desirable
- Strong caregiving skills complemented by a compassionate attitude towards seniors and those with disabilities
