Job Description
HealthStream Physical Therapy based in San Diego, CA is currently seeking a part time Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to perform telehealth physical therapy visits. Must be a graduate of an approved Physical Therapy Assistant program by the Council of Medical Education. Must be licensed with the Physical Therapy Board of California. Licensure in Arizona is a plus!
HealthStream PT is a rapidly growing physical therapy clinic that came about in response to the COVID-19 pandemic as a virtual outpatient physical therapy clinic servicing California and Arizona. Our business model is to deliver quality one-on-one care to patients with limited access to nearby physical therapy. Physical therapy should always be just within reach.

You can work remotely from your home or anywhere.
Hours:
Part-Time Schedule that fits your needs. Looking for afternoon and early evening coverage, weekends as well. We are looking for someone who can commit to 10 hours a week.
In the future, there may be a possibility for a full-time benefitted position to include 401k, medical, holidays, and accrued PTO.
Duties of PTA:
· Provide a full range of Physical Therapy Assistant services, and assist the Physical Therapists with measurements, assessments and therapeutic recommendations to assist with re-evaluation and future treatment planning.
- Record treatment, response, alterations of treatment plans, patient progress and patient's reactions as needed in the patient's chart and/or automated systems.
- Perform timely, accurate, and concise documentation of patient care.
- All treatment sessions completed with full focus on achievement of realistic and documented treatment goals, and comply with or satisfy the intent of the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Assist supervising PT in formulating new goals, determining extent to which goals and objectives are being met by patients.
- Participate in peer review activities as needed or as directed.
- Maintain a level of productivity comparable with that of other individuals performing similar services.
- Participate in continuing education to meet own professional growth.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- California PTA license
- Arizona PTA license
- CPR certification
- Bilingual speaker a must! English and Spanish (Mandarin or Korean accepted as well)
- Computer literate, able to assist patients struggling with technology
- Excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, self-motivated, attentive to details
- 2 or more years of experience in outpatient physical therapy setting
I’m new to telehealth, what should I expect?
- Telehealth medicine requires you to think outside of the box to come up with exercises that are easy to teach virtually through a computer screen. You must be creative with your use of the patients home and household items to help them progress their exercise program.
- Easy to use Electronic Charting. Clinicians can access and document their patient charts on any device (mobile phone, tablet, laptop, etc.) no matter where you are (at home, coffee shop, in office etc.)
- Dedicated Office Staff. A dedicated scheduler will assist with making sure patients are online and able to access the telehealth platform for your appointments.
Pay: $32.00 - $35.00 per hour
