Maple Grove Wellness & Rehabilitation is seeking an experienced Maintenance Director (Plant Operations Director) to lead our Environmental Services and Maintenance Department in Fenton, MO. This leadership position is responsible for overseeing facility maintenance, preventative maintenance, life safety compliance, building systems, and the daily operations of our maintenance team within our skilled nursing and rehabilitation center.

The Maintenance Director oversees all building maintenance, preventative maintenance, life safety programs, environmental services, and laundry operations to ensure our facility remains safe, clean, compliant, and comfortable for residents, visitors, and staff. This role ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations while leading the maintenance department and coordinating outside vendors when necessary.
Direct and supervise the daily operations of the Maintenance and Environmental Services departments.
Lead, coach, schedule, and develop maintenance staff to ensure efficient daily operations.
Execute and manage the facility's preventative maintenance program.
Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspections, work orders, equipment repairs, and replacement documentation using the TELS maintenance management system.
Prioritize and complete maintenance requests in a timely manner.
Perform daily facility rounds to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns.
Ensure compliance with CMS, OSHA, state, local, and Life Safety Code regulations.
Maintain building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical equipment, boilers, generators, lighting, elevators, nurse call systems, fire alarms, sprinkler systems, and emergency power systems.
Coordinate inspections, testing, and repairs for fire safety equipment, smoke detectors, fire doors, extinguishers, emergency lighting, and life safety systems.
Conduct routine fire drills and maintain required documentation.
Monitor water temperatures, refrigeration equipment, exhaust fans, circuit breakers, and other essential building systems.
Coordinate room readiness for new admissions and resident discharges.
Collaborate with nursing leadership and department managers to support infection prevention initiatives and provide a safe environment.
Manage department budgets, inventory, maintenance supplies, and vendor relationships.
Recommend and coordinate outside contractors for specialized repairs.
Develop and update maintenance policies, procedures, and safety programs.
Ensure the facility remains clean, safe, attractive, and compliant with all regulatory requirements.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Previous supervisory or management experience in maintenance required.
Experience as a Maintenance Director, Plant Operations Director, Facilities Manager, Maintenance Supervisor, or similar leadership role preferred.
Long-term care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, hospital, or healthcare maintenance experience strongly preferred.
Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical systems, carpentry, painting, drywall, and general building maintenance.
Knowledge of Life Safety Code, OSHA, CMS, state survey requirements, and regulatory compliance.
Strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining regulatory compliance.
