American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg unit in Corpus Christi, TX, requiring at least 1 year of recent acute Med/Surg experience and an active TX or compact RN license.

16-bed Med/Surg unit with a mix of general medical/surgical and COVID-positive patients
-
Patient ratio of maximum 6:1
-
Day shift staffing includes a charge RN, 3–4 RNs, and 1 PCA; night shift includes a charge RN, 3 RNs, and 1 PCA
-
Day shift hours: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
-
13-week contract

EMR: Meditech
-
Rotating weekends as needed for travel RNs
-
Floating to other Med/Surg units required
-
Active TX or compact RN license required
-
BLS certification required (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment)

Minimum 1 year of recent acute Med/Surg experience required

Ability to manage a caseload of 4–6 patients
-
US SSN and date of birth required for consideration

One professional reference required
-
No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
-
Preferred candidates will have 2+ years of recent acute Med/Surg experience

Background in ortho, neuro-surgery, or Med/Surg telemetry is preferred
-
Common procedures include IV insertion, urinary catheter insertion and maintenance, central line maintenance, medication administration, and EHR documentation
-
Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates will not be considered
