We believe every young person deserves access to a safe, inspiring place to learn, grow, and belong. As a Youth Development Professional (YDP), you’ll play a hands-on role in creating that environment—helping kids find their path to lifelong success while having fun after school.

What You'll Do
- Lead engaging, age-appropriate programs and activities for Club members grades TK-12, aligned with our three core program areas (academics, arts and athletics)
- Oversee member safety— this involves, but is not limited to condition of equipment and facilities, ability levels for activities, weather, etc.
- Foster a welcoming space that supports positive behavior and inclusivity among members and teammates
- Assist with all aspects of homework — accessing assignments, completing homework, checking grades and using extra time productively
- Help orient new members and guide them through club rules, programs, and events
- Monitor behavior, manage group dynamics, and proactively de-escalate conflicts
- Keep program areas clean, organized, and vibrant with fresh materials and displays
- Demonstrate flexibility by reporting to various sites within the region as needed, and/or working with different grade levels
- Maintain respectful, productive relationships with families, school staff, and the community
What You'll Bring
Required:
- High School diploma or GED
- 18 years or older
- At least 6 months of experience working with youth, and basic understanding of the developmental needs of young people
- Proficiency in MS Office suite
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to plan activities, engage youth, and manage group behavior
- Capacity to de-escalate and problem-solve in a fast-paced, youth-centered setting
- CPR/First Aid certification (provided upon hire)
- Must complete all pre-employment clearances (see below)
Pre-Employment Requirements

- Background check (including criminal history)
- TB test
- Drug & alcohol screening
- I-9 verification with original documents required

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
- Onsite at designated work location (standalone Clubhouse or school site) involving indoor and outdoor activities
- Ability to push/pull, squat, twist, turn, bend, stoop, lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
- This role requires the ability to stand and walk for a minimum of 3 consecutive hours
- Ability to project voice with sufficient volume to be heard while addressing groups
- Sufficient visual acuity to read printed materials, observe youth in a group setting, and ensure a safe and engaging environment
