About the Role
Are you a recent Construction Management or Civil Engineering graduate ready to turn your classroom knowledge into real-world projects? We are looking for an energetic Assistant Estimator to join our pre-construction team. In this role, you will not just be crunching numbers in a dark room. You will work side-by-side with senior estimators, project managers, and subcontractors to help bid, win, and launch major projects. This is a structured, fast-paced launchpad for a long-term career in construction leadership.
What You Will Do
- Perform Takeoffs: Utilize digital tools to quantify materials, labor, and equipment needed for upcoming bids.
- Manage Subcontractor Relations: Reach out to trades, distribute project plans, and ensure we receive competitive, accurate bids.
- Review Plans & Specs: Dive deep into blueprints and architectural drawings to identify project requirements and potential scope gaps.
- Assist with Bid Submissions: Help compile final bid packages, historical cost data, and proposal documents under tight deadlines.
What We Are Looking For
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (Recent grads highly encouraged to apply!).
- Tech-Savvy: Familiarity with digital construction tools (e.g., Bluebeam, Procore, On-Screen Takeoff, or Excel) is a major plus.
- Blueprint Literacy: Ability to read and interpret commercial construction drawings and specifications.
- Detail-Obsessed: You notice the small missing details on a schematic that others sketch past.
- Strong Communicator: Comfortable picking up the phone to clarify quotes with vendors and subcontractors.
What We Offer You
- Dedicated Mentorship: You will be paired with a Senior Estimator who is invested in teaching you the business from the ground up.
- Clear Career Path: We don't want you to be an assistant forever. This role is designed to fast-track you into a full Estimator or Project Manager role within 2–3 years.
- Competitive Package: Solid starting salary, health, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
- Modern Tools: Access to the latest software and technology to make your job efficient.
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
