Position Summary: The Manufacturing Co-Op Student supports manufacturing, engineering, and operational improvement activities within a regulated manufacturing environment. This role provides hands-on exposure to production processes, continuous improvement initiatives, quality systems, and manufacturing documentation while assisting cross-functional teams in achieving safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
The co-op student will gain practical experience in manufacturing operations, process improvement, and engineering support activities within a fast-paced industrial or medical device manufacturing environment.

Operate CNC Swiss machines to support production and customer on-time delivery.

Perform basic tool wear monitoring and report findings to lead or supervisor.

Perform in-process inspections and identify parts out of tolerance.

Interpret job travelers, blueprints and inspection documents to accurately machine devices

Understand and accurately execute EPICOR ERP transactions to support job functions.

Accurately document production by completing forms, reports, logs and records of jobs and equipment.

Operate and maintain equipment by following established procedures, perform preventive maintenance.

Maintain a safe, clean and organized work area

Adhere to Tyber Medical Safety and OSHA requirements.

Adhere to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Standard Work Instructions (SWI’s), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), Good Documentation Practices (GDP), Quality Management System (QMS).

Experience / Core Competencies:

Previous manufacturing or technical experience preferred but not required

Internship, lab, or project experience is a plus

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Working knowledge of measuring tools, i.e., calipers, micrometers, vision systems, hard gages, etc.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) symbols.

Demonstrated ability to work in a production environment.

Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

Demonstrated ability to work independently with a strong sense of urgency, and effectively under pressure.
