We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Payment Poster to join our reputable orthopedic office. As a Payment Poster, you will play a crucial role in the financial health of our practice by accurately recording and posting payments received from patients, insurance companies, and other third-party payers. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of medical billing and coding processes, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of accuracy.
Responsibilities:
Payment Processing:
- Accurately post payments received from various sources, including patients, insurance companies, and other third-party payers.
- Verify and reconcile payments with corresponding invoices and patient accounts.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in payment information.
Insurance Claims:
- Work closely with the billing team to ensure accurate processing of insurance claims.
- Investigate and address any issues related to denied or delayed payments.
- Stay informed about changes in insurance policies and billing procedures.
Record Keeping:
- Maintain organized and up-to-date records of all financial transactions.
- Generate regular reports summarizing payment activities for management review.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
Customer Service:
- Respond to inquiries from internal staff regarding payment-related issues.
- Provide excellent customer service and address concerns promptly and professionally.
Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant healthcare regulations and billing guidelines.
- Stay informed about industry changes and updates related to payment processing.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in medical billing or related field is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Payment Poster or similar role in a medical office setting.
- Strong knowledge of medical billing and coding procedures.
- Familiarity with insurance claim processing and reimbursement.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
- Proficient in using billing software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
