Position Overview
J&B Exterior Group is seeking a motivated and experienced General Laborer to support our landscape and exterior service operations. This role is ideal for candidates with at least 2 years of hands-on landscaping or outdoor construction experience who are comfortable working in Florida’s outdoor conditions and are committed to delivering high-quality results.
As part of our field team, you will assist with a variety of services including landscape maintenance, installations, hardscaping, turf systems, and exterior property improvements. You will work under the direction of a Crew Leader or Foreman while contributing to efficient, safe, and professional project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform lawn maintenance tasks including mowing, edging, trimming, and plant care
- Assist with landscape installations such as planting, mulching, sod, and grading
- Support installation work, including:
- Irrigation and drainage systems
- Hardscaping (pavers, walkways, patios)
- Artificial turf installation
- Complete general exterior service tasks such as:
- Pressure washing and surface cleaning
- Tree and hedge trimming support
- Site preparation, digging, hauling, and material handling
- Safely operate landscape equipment, power tools, and job-site machinery
- Follow project plans and directions from Crew Leaders/Foremen to meet deadlines
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites at all times
- Represent J&B Exterior Group professionally on residential and commercial properties
- Adhere to all company safety standards and operational procedures
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of landscaping, exterior services, or related field experience (required)
- Legal authorization to work in the United States
- Ability to work outdoors in Florida heat, humidity, and varying weather conditions
- Strong work ethic: dependable, punctual, and team-oriented
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding labor consistently
- Basic communication skills; ability to follow instructions and work effectively within a crew
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license (preferred; may be required for certain crews)
- Experience with landscape equipment such as mowers, trimmers, blowers, and compact machinery
- Knowledge of irrigation systems, drainage solutions, or hardscaping techniques
- Familiarity with Florida plant materials and best practices for installation and maintenance
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
- Experience with trailer operation or hauling equipment is a plus
