Tumbler / Shipping & Receiving / Saw Operator
Job Description
In this position the Tumbler / Shipping & Receiving / Saw Operator prepares and accepts the delivery of goods for all incoming and outgoing shipments as well as operates the saws to provide specified lengths of material to the manufacturing team. This individual often moves product to and from various locations with forklifts, handcarts, and pallet jacks. A main task for this individual is verifying product quantities and appropriately packaging product to ship to customers or outside processing.
Responsibilities
- Operates tumbler for items that require tumbling as needed.
- Load parts into the tumbler and remove parts to pack as instructed.
- Packs and labels product for shipping, including recording weight and dimensions
- Operates saws to provide material for all production jobs
- Moves cut material, parts, and other items to proper buildings, areas, and machines
- Records saw production
- Operates forklifts and loads and unloads trucks
- Confirms quantities of incoming and outgoing shipments of parts/material
- Ensures saws are operating properly and cuts material to specified length
- Handles and moves objects (often between buildings)
- Maintains a safe and clean work environment by following safety guidelines and procedures, and complying with all applicable regulations
- Confirms information on paperwork matches to physical parts shipping
- Ensures paperwork is properly moved to the office/out with shipments
- Miscellaneous duties including cleaning and tumbling
- Regular attendance is an essential function of this position as unscheduled absences would create undue hardship to the business in its effect on maintaining production numbers.

Education/Training
- High school diploma or GED
- Complete on the job training
