Join our dynamic team as a Commercial Cleaner, dedicated to maintaining spotless and safe environments during evening hours in Ashtabula. Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of commercial spaces, including floors, restrooms, offices, and common areas using appropriate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and scrubbers
- Handle chemical agents safely, following all chemical handling safety procedures to ensure a secure environment
- Use custodial tools and cleaning supplies efficiently to complete tasks quickly and effectively
- Conduct sanitation procedures to meet health standards, including disinfecting high-touch surfaces
- Assist with light maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or reporting larger issues to facilities management
- Follow safety protocols diligently during all cleaning activities, including heavy lifting and manual handling practices
- Maintain cleanliness logs and report any safety concerns or equipment malfunctions promptly
Experience
- Prior janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or industrial settings preferred
- Familiarity with cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, and chemical sprayers is highly desirable
- Knowledge of safety protocol adherence related to chemical handling and heavy lifting practices
- Experience in facilities maintenance or industrial cleaning enhances your suitability for this role
- Customer service skills are a plus, as the role may involve interacting with building occupants or visitors in a professional manner
- Previous porter or maintenance experience can be beneficial for understanding the broader scope of facilities upkeep
