What You'll Do
As the Deputy City Clerk, you will assist in the day-to-day operations of the Clerk's Office while ensuring compliance with Michigan law and City policies.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist in the administration of Federal, State, and Local elections
- Prepare City Council agenda packets, minutes, resolutions, and official records
- Serve as Clerk to the Planning Commission, Brownfield Development and DDA as well as support additional boards and commissions if needed
- Maintain ordinances, resolutions, contracts, and records retention systems
- Process solicitor permits, public notices, and legal publications
- Serve as a Notary Public and administer oaths of office
- Assist with Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests
- Provide outstanding customer service to residents and visitors
- Support human resources administration, employee onboarding, and personnel records
- Assist with office accounting functions, purchasing, and budget support
- Update the City's website and official social media platforms as directed
- Serve as Acting City Clerk in the Clerk's absence.
Pay: $24.99 - $27.81 per hour
