Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant School Safety Resource Officer (Guardian Certified / LEO) to join our team for year-round employment. This vital role involves ensuring the safety and security of students, staff, visitors, and school property through proactive surveillance, conflict management, and emergency response. As a School Safety Resource Officer, you will serve as a visible presence on campus, fostering a safe learning environment while collaborating with law enforcement and security teams to prevent incidents and respond swiftly when necessary. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on school safety while utilizing your skills in security, law enforcement, and emergency preparedness.
Responsibilities
- Monitor school premises and perform regular visual inspections to identify potential safety hazards or suspicious activity.
- Respond promptly to incidents or emergencies by applying conflict management techniques, performing first aid, CPR, or AED operations as needed.
- Enforce school policies related to security, loss prevention, and manual handling of materials or equipment.
- Utilize law enforcement training and surveillance skills such as Taser deployment (if certified) to de-escalate conflicts and maintain order.
- Collaborate with local law enforcement agencies during investigations or incident responses involving the school community.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in security, law enforcement, military service, or related fields.
- Valid certifications in CPR, AED operation, first aid, and conflict management; additional certifications like Taser use are advantageous. Will train.
- Excellent communication skills with the capacity to manage conflicts calmly and professionally.
- Prior experience in a school environment or working with youth is required.
- Coach Aaron Feis School Guardian Training (144 hour course) current and valid certificate required.
- Active Law Enforcement must adhere to FSS. 30.15 and request a waiver for the 144 hour course to obtain a certificate.
- FDACS D & G Licenses and concealed carry, required.
- Must have your own duty weapon, level 2 or 3 retention holster and duty belt.
- Black polishable police style shoes
- Pepper (OC) Spray, police grade
- Appropriate duty belt attachments
- Protecting God's Children & AHCA certification (provided by Proteus)
- Ability to stand all shift and patrol the campus (this is not an office position or in the car).
- Ability to work with the Principal and follow directions that are within our scope and lawful.

Pay: From $52,000.00 per year
