Amerisure is currently recruiting for a Senior PIP Claims Analyst that can do a 2-day hybrid approach onsite in one of our offices. The ideal candidate will also possess the following skill set.
Summary Statement
Provides quality investigation and analysis to adjust MI PIP Life Expectancy claims involving the Michigan Catastrophic Claims Association (MCCA). Includes all aspects of reporting to the MCCA (Initial, status and requests for reimbursement). File handling also includes litigated matters where settlement authority/approval from the MCCA is required.
Essential Tasks/Major Duties

Investigate losses, verify coverage, evaluate liability, damages and determine compensability independently.

Engage other parties in negotiations and settle claims pursuant to claims handling guidelines.

Timely initial reports to the MCCA when claim meets reporting criteria as well as timely and accurate completion of the MCCA status reports.

Timely and accurate completion of Reimbursement Requests to MCCA.

Collaborate closely with accounting to ensure balances align.

Leverage expertise to review and analyze documents and legal pleadings.

Establish and maintain proper reserves for each claim to accurately reflect the financial exposure.

Partner with counsel to manage litigated claims.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

5 years Michigan PIP claims with MCCA involvement and experience with reporting and reimbursement requests.

AIC or SCLA certification preferred, but not required.

Ability to obtain appropriate state licensing as required.

Proficient computer skills required including Microsoft Office Suite, Excel.

Demonstrated successful ability to build positive relationships and partnerships within department, across the organization and with external customers.

Ability to think strategically with supporting analytical skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with internal and external customers.
